Technical Requirements for a TJ-IX Peering Platform Participant

Clear indication of port speed and module type

It is necessary to specify: 10G, 40G, 100G to correctly select equipment and ensure physical compatibility.

Autonomous System (AS) number

Using BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) is required; without an AS number, it is impossible to participate in route exchange.

Routing Policy and Route-object in RIPE NCC

Required to confirm which IP prefixes you are authorized to announce. This ensures transparency and control.

Route symmetry via Route Server (RS)

You must announce your routes according to the published policy to avoid asymmetric (one-way) routing.

Disabling unnecessary Layer 2 protocols

Disable ARP, LLDP, CDP, STP, and other Layer 2 traffic on IX ports to avoid broadcast storms and loops.

Providing MAC addresses

Needed to configure filtering on IX switches and prevent MAC spoofing.

Use of only allocated TJ-IX IP addresses

Using your own or foreign IPs is not allowed, as it violates the IX architecture.

No announcement of IX routes to other operators

Avoid route leaks that violate the IX structure.

No announcement of client networks without permission

Protects client routes from being leaked without their consent.
